Resumen

Objetivo principal: Realizar la propuesta teórica de un modelo de factores asociados al consumo del cigarro electrónico en jóvenes universitarios, utilizando como base teórica la Teoría de la Conducta Planeada. Metodología: Se empleó la estrategia metodológica de subestructuración teórica propuesta por Dulock y Holzemer. Resultados principales: Se elaboró un modelo que vincula teóricamente los factores que influyen en el consumo del cigarro electrónico en jóvenes universitarios, entre los cuales se encuentran la percepción del riesgo, la actitud, la presión de pares, la autoeficacia y la intención. Conclusión principal: El presente modelo de elementos relacionados con el consumo del cigarro electrónico en jóvenes universitarios permite una representación clara y fundamentada de los factores que influyen en la intención y el comportamiento del consumo del cigarro electrónico.

Abstract

Objective: to develop a theoretical model of factors associated with e-cigarette use among university students, using the Theory of Planned Behavior as a theoretical framework. Methodology: The theoretical substructuring strategy proposed by Dulock and Holzemer was employed. Results: A model was developed which theoretically links the factors influencing e-cigarette use among university students, including risk perception, attitude, peer pressure, self-efficacy, and intention. Conclusions: The present model of elements related to the consumption of electronic cigarettes in young university students allows a clear and well-founded representation of the factors that influence the intention and behavior of the consumption of electronic cigarettes.
